Jewellery shop owner tricked of Rs 20,000

Nagpur News : Wadi Police arrested one and booked another in a forgery case registered on Wednesday night. According to police, accused George Varghese Putan Paramil Varghese (46), a resident of Chhaoni, Sadar and Prakash Bafna (45), a resident of Gandhi Chowk, Sadar went to Sawarkar Jewellers Shop to keep a ring in pawn. The shop owner Vikas Babanrao Sawarkar (48), a resident of Suraksha Nagar, Wadi, checked the ring. After checking the ring, Vikas gave them Rs 20,000 against the ring.

Later, Vikas’s brother, who also owns a jewellery shop, informed him about some fake silver rings coated as gold. Vikas re-checked the ring and found it to be fake.

Vikas then lodged a complaint against the two persons. Cops arrested George while Prakash is absconding. Wadi Police have registered an offence under Sections 420 and 34 of the IPC against George and Prakash. Search is on for Prakash.
