Justice Dangre voices concern over surge in Family Court cases

Nagpur: Justice Bharti Dangre, Administrative Judge, Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court expressed her concern regarding the alarming rise in the number of cases in family courts. She suggested that family court judges adopt a positive approach and focus on settling cases as quickly as possible through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

Justice Dangre also stressed that judges and mediators handling such sensitive matters require thorough training, and that lawyers should approach their cases with sensitivity toward societal issues. She was speaking as Chief Guest after inaugurating a “Lecture Series” in memory of the late Pushpa Satuja at the Family Court Bar Association, Nagpur.

Adv Kamal Satuja organized this lecture series in memory of his mother, in collaboration with the Family Court Nagpur Bar Association, to promote social commitment. The goal is to provide lawyers in family court with proper guidance and to inform them about new changes in the law.

The programme was presided over by the Principal Judge of the Family Court, Nagpur, Hitesh Ganatra, along with Judges of Family Court No. 2 Mohammad Aijaz; Family Court No. 3 Sheikh Babbusa Patil; Family Court No. 4 Judge Anita Giradkar; President of FCBA Adv Ramnath Sen; Secretary of FCBA Adv. Vasanthi Rinke; Senior Advocate Adv Firdoz Mirza; President of DBA Adv Roshan Bagde; Secretary of DBA Adv Manish Ranadive; Ex-President of DBA Adv Kamal Satuja; and several other distinguished lawyers were present.
