Nagpur: After seven years of construction, the Kamptee Road double-decker flyover in Nagpur is expected to open to the public by the end of September, pending no further heavy rainfall delays. Maha Metro recently acquired the necessary land at LIC Square, enabling rapid progress on the flyover’s ramp. The project had been stalled for over 2.5 years due to land acquisition issues.
With asphalting and service road work remaining, Metro officials estimate an additional three weeks of construction. The acquired land, measuring 2,383.36 square metres, cost the District Collectorate Rs 39.35 crore in compensation and establishment charges.
The project required partial demolition of several old structures, and its initial planned landing site was revised to accommodate local community demands, led by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
