New Delhi/Nagpur: JNU students union president Kanhaiya Kumar who was arrested on the charges of sedition by the Delhi police last month, walked out of jail on Thursday.
He was granted 6 months interim bail by Delhi High Court on Wednesday, 20 days after he was held for raising anti-India slogans in JNU campus on February 9.
Speaking to NDTV, Kanhaiya said, “I will now write my own story. I started writing in jail. Confident that truth will prevail, true facts emerging slowly.”

Earlier in the day, a Delhi Government-appointed magisterial probe did not find any evidence of Kanhaiya raising anti-India slogans at a controversial event in the university, allegations based on which he was slapped with sedition charges by police. According to the probe report, anti-national slogans were shouted at the campus and JNU administration has already identified “few faces” who were “clearly” heard raising them. The probe panel said their whereabouts must be found out and their role must be investigated.
