Nagpur: The three-day Khasdar Karandak One-Act Play competition organised by Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav Samiti concluded on Saturday, with the staging of eight plays.
The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and his wife Kanchan Gadkari also watched the plays. Gadkari announced to give Rs 10,000 as prize to each of 23 theatre organisations that participated in the competition.
The theme of the competition was ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’, and the plays revolved around the tales of bravery and heroism from India’s struggle for Independence. Ashwini Anil Sole, Bharti Jayaprakash Gupta, Madhulika Madhup Pandey, Seema Rajesh Bagdi, Apoorva Avinash Ghushe and Renuka Deshkar graced the inaugural ceremony of the concluding day of the competition on Saturday, at ScientificHall in Laxmi Nagar.
The eight plays staged on the last day included ‘Mazi Baju, Maza Paksha’ presented by Khobragade Shikshan Sanstha, ‘Zenda ghya ho Zenda’ by The MP Education Society, ‘Aahuti’ by Lohiya Adhyayan Kendra, ‘Samar Saudamini’ by CP and Berar Sanstha, ‘Avataran’ by Hemendu Rangbhoomi, ‘Anant Mi’ by Santaji Mahavidyalaya, ‘Agast se Agast Tak’ by Rangrasiya, and ‘Titwal ka Khauf’.
