Nagpur : Cricket legend, Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday evening inaugurated the second edition of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav at Yeshwant Stadium .
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari; Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis; Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule; Nagpur Mayor Nanda Jichkar were present at the inauguration function.
A cultural programme was also presented during the opening ceremony. Title winning Vidarbha Ranji Trophy cricket team led by Faiz Fazal was felicitated by Tendulkar.
The 15-day sporting extravaganza will see around 30,000 players fight for the top honours in 27 games and 390 events. Over 40 ground all over the city will see the action in which 380 trophies and over 600 medals will be distributed. Prizes worth Rs 72 lakh would be distributed among the teams and players during the competitions.
The function was also graced by MP Vikas Mahatme, former MP Ajay Sancheti, Sulekha Kumbhare, MLA Sudhakar Kohale, Sudhakar Deshmukh, Anil Sole, Nago Ganar, Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, Girish Vyas and Dr Milind Mane.
