Nagpur: The sixth edition of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav (KKM) concluded at Yeshwant Stadium in Nagpur in thrilling fashion on Sunday. Renowned Bollywood singer enthralled the capacity crowd at the stadium during the concluding function of the sporting event.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, “Development of sportspersons is as important as providing basic facilities like roads, electricity and water. And I will always stand for the development of sportspersons,” he said.
The 17-day, 55-event mega grass-root multi sports event ended with felicitation of winners including Subhash Krida Mandal as the best association; Haresh Vora as the best sports organiser; Ganesh Purohit as the best coach along with 14 Krida Bhushans.
Presiding over the function, Gadkari added, “With an aim to reach players outside the city, as many as six sporting events were conducted at Vidarbha level. More than 67 thousand players, right from kids to veterans, took part in the championship sharing a prize money of Rs 1 crore and 35 lakh.”
KKM Convenor ex-Mayor Sandip Joshi made introductory remarks. BJP’s Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Pravin Datke; JCB India’s Deepak Shetty, Jasmit Singh, Jitendra Kukde, Dr Piyush Ambulkar, Sudhakar Kohale, Sudhir Diwe and representatives of various sports organisations were present on the occasion. By pressing a remote button, Bawankule extinguished the games flames while Ambulkar lowered the games flag. The show was conducted by RJ Amod and Mona. After the felicitation, B Praak took over the stage and entertained the crowd with his popular numbers.
