Nagpur: Volleyball teams from Latur claimed twin titles in the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav competition held at Samarth Vyayam Shala ground in Nagpur.
In the Under-21 boys section, Latur defeated Mumbai 25-18, 26-24, 25-22 while in Under-18 girls’ category, Latur stunned Pune to clinch the title winning the summit clash 25-11, 25-16, 25-22.
Jayesh, Dnyaneshwari emerge TT champions
Jayesh Kulkarni and Dnyaneshwari Patharkar defeated their rivals to clinch the men and women’s table tennis crowns.
In the men’s final, Kulkarni got the better of Vaibhav Rane 11-8, 5-11, 11-4, 7-11, 11-5 to clinch the coveted title. In the women’s final, Dnyaneshwari ousted Harshali Devgade 11-1, 11-8, 11-4 to lay her hands on the trophy.
St Vincent Pallotti clinches hockey title
St Vincent Pallotti School defeated School of Scholars to clinch the Under-17 boys hockey title at Vidarbha Hockey Association ground. In the final, Pallotti beat SoS 3-0 via penalty shoot-out.
Rayan Chokandare, Parth Sharma and Hasan Siddiqui were the scorers for Pallotti. In the senior men’s quarter-final, Kamptee United defeated DSACR 5-2 via shoot-out. For DSACR, Irshad Mirza scored in 37th which was levelled by Abhishek Gajbhiye 51st. In the shootout, Rakesh, Ajay, Abhishek and Kartik scored for Kamptee while for DSACR only Mirza converted from the spot.
