Nagpur: Girls from Vidarbha Krida Mandal, Katol, emerged champions of the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav’s kho-kho event. In the boys section, Katol’s Vidarbha Youth Krida Mandal emerged winners.
In the final, the VKM girls got the better of Nav Hind Krida Mandal, Yavatmal by an innings while in boys category, VYKM Katol beat Vidarbha Krida Mandal, Katol by four points at Divisional Sports Complex. Vidarbha Krida Mandal Katol’s Divya Sawarkar was declared as the best defender while the title of best raider went to Aishwarya Dhoke of Maratha Friends Club, Amravati.

In the Under-14 age category, Vidarbha Youth, Ladgaon boys and girls claimed both the titles. The boys pipped Vidarbha Youth Nagpur by just one point to take the title. In the girls category, Katol edged out Nagpur’s Vidarbha Krida Mandal also by a single point. Vidarbha Krida Mandal, Katol finished third beating Maharashtra Krida Mandal, Nagpur by two points.
Arnash, Harshada win fencing titles:
Arnash Meshram and Harshada Damkondawar emerged champions in the men and women’s categories respectively as it was curtains on the fencing event organised as part of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, on Wednesday. Both won the top spot in the foil event.
In Under-14 boys, Kartik Doble won the gold while in girls, Pranjal Jain claimed the yellow medal.

Rahul, Rabbani record wins in football event
Rahul Sankrutyayan Club and Rabbani Club, Kamptee registered contrasting victories over their respective rivals in the football event. While Rahul pipped Qidwai Sporting 1-0 thanks to Yash Shukla’s 50th minute strike, Rabbani had to take the help of the tie-breaker to beat IFFC 4- 3. In tie-breaker, Mohd Rizwan, Mohd Owais Ashraf, Awaiz andMohd Mujatab Ashraf scored for Rabbani while for IFFC, Rishabh Kanojiya, Tanmay Khanda and Ayush Keshri scored.
Mohd Ashrar had put Rabbani ahead in the first minute of play but Fawwaz Sayeed scored the leveller in the 49th minute to take the game into tie-breaker.
