Labourer electrocuted in Nagpur’s MIDC area

Nagpur: A construction labourer was electrocuted after coming into contact with a high tension line while performing tile-fitting work in the Wanadongri area under MIDC police station.

The deceased was identified as Nandlal Katariya (23), a resident of Sikar district in Rajasthan.

According to the police, Nandlal was employed as a tile-fitter at the construction site of one Mankar in Shrikrishna Nagar, Mahajanwadi, Wanadongri. An overhead high-tension line belonging to MSEDCL passes above the under-construction house of Mankar. On Saturday at 7 am, Nandlal went to the third floor of the building and accidentally made contact with the high-tension line. Other labourers discovered him unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

MIDC police have registered a case of accidental death and are conducting further investigation.
