Nagpur: A 28-year-old man reportedly killed his wife, suspecting her fidelity, at Shitala Mata Chowk here on Tuesday.
Police have identified the deceased as Anusiya alias Dinya Shyamkishor Gajam (24) and booked the accused husband, Shyamkishor Tejlaal Gajam (28), a resident of Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, in connection with the incident.

According to police sources, the Gajam couple had come to Nagpur as laborers around 10 days ago. They were working at IPF Officer Quarters. However, Shyamkishor reportedly suspected Anusiya’s fidelity, which led to frequent arguments between them.
On Tuesday night, around 8 pm, Shyamkishor reportedly got into a scuffle with his wife Anusiya. In a fit of rage, he picked up an iron rod and attacked her head. With severe head injuries, she succumbed to her injuries on the spot. Shyamkishor then fled the scene.
In the meantime, an offence under Section 302 of the IPC was registered with Sakkardara Police. The manhunt for the accused is ongoing.
