Nagpur: A labourer lost his life when a truck carrying bricks overturned near the Chinchbhavan area on Wardha Road in Nagpur.
The deceased, identified as Anil Laxmikant Ninawe (34), hailed from Naka No 2, Kamptee Road, Khairi village. Ninawe, employed as a labourer with a mini-truck engaged in transporting bricks, met with the fatal accident on Saturday around 12.20 pm. According to police, Ninawe was seated on the bricks within the truck when the tragedy took place. The accident occurred on the stretch of road connecting Bahujan Nagar and Chinchbhavan Square.
Initial investigations revealed that the truck driver, Amit Vijay Rangari (32), a resident of Bharatwada, Wadi, lost control over the vehicle and it overturned. The impact of the accident caused Ninawe to suffer multiple injuries from the bricks and the truck’s collapse. He was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
Following the accident, the Beltarodi Police swiftly took action, arresting the truck driver, Amit Vijay Rangari. Rangari has been booked under Sections 279 and 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
55-yr-old woman dies in hit-and-run mishap:
A 55-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by a two-wheeler while crossing a road in the Gittikhadan area. The deceased, identified as Kamrun Zarif Sheikh from Police Line Takli, was crossing the road near Shyam Lawn in Gittikhadan when the incident occurred. She sustained serious injuries from the accident and was rushed to Medical College Hospital for treatment. She succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
The driver of the two-wheeler fled the scene after the accident. Gittikhadan police have registered the case under the provisions of IPC and MVA and initiated an investigation into the fatal accident.
