No Toilet for ladies in passport office nagpurNagpur: The womenfolk visiting the Passport Service Centre, located at Sadiqabad area of city, find themselves in “pressing” dilemma. The sophisticated office does not have ladies toilet. And to ease themselves from the dilemma and respond to the nature’s call, the womenfolk are forced to rush to the neighbouring residences, but at a cost. The owners, taking advantage of the ‘helpless’ ladies, charge Rs 50 or Rs 60 from them for using their facilities. In fact, even for the gents, the Passport Service Centre lacks a proper toilet. The result is, a nearby ‘nallah’ comes handy for the gents. It is being used as urinal or sometimes as toilet by a horde of male visitors and thus turning the atmosphere stinking and filthy.

According to sources, the lack of urinal and toilet facilities at the passport centre is providing an opportunity to scrupulous elements to earn an easy money at the cost of ‘helpless’ visitors. The environment is turning foul and stinking is another disturbing aspect. The Passport Service Centre is visited by hundreds of people including womenfolk and people from far off places. And when faced with the problematic situation, the dilemma could be guessed and felt as well. The shameful aspect of the shabby affairs is that the womenfolk are forced to go to the nearby residents for unusual request. The winter makes the situation worse as more and more need is felt for urinals, naturally.

A local Congress leader has highlighted the problem and also warned of an agitation is the situation is not improved within 15 days.
