Nagpur: Recently a Fashion show with a social cause was organized by the P.G department of Fashion design of LAD College for women with differently able persons of SVKSanstha at Orange City craft Mela organised by South Central zone SCZCC, Nagpur , The fashion show began with the theme ‘Regional textile of India’ presented by the Miss LAD contest finalist.
They confidently showcased every part of the country through the dresses they were wearing.The beautiful girls were draped in regional outfits of the places across the different region of the country, may it be Bandhani, Paithani, kantha, Phulkari, kashmiri,South Indian, Silk or cotton sarees. The girls gracefully carried on the ramp specialities of the regions.
After an energetic round which depicted fashion across the country In the second sequence the differently able persons of SVK Shikshan Sanstha walked together with the students of PG department of Fashion Design of LAD college, they wore sashes depicting their true qualities and abilities walked the ramp with poise and. made their mark with their brilliant performance and won many hearts ,this played a vital role in boosting their confidence. Every participant was introduced by Prerna Vatsalya, who made it a point to mention the qualities that they possessed.
It was overwhelming response, with standing ovation and emotional outburst by the audience for the very confident and graceful performance by twelve Differently Abled beneficiaries of SVK Shikshan Sanstha in the Fashion Show at South Central Zone Cultural Center. Appreciation from the huge audience instilled a lot of confidence in the differently abled participants and their parents. Earlier the programme Mrs Sonal Trivedi Malkan introduced the concept of the fashion show ,former Vice Principal of LAD college, Dr Harsha Jharia coordinated the fashion show. Payal Chanchalani and Ankita Chakrobarty trained the participants for the ramp walk. Both Dr Harsha Jharia and Gayatri Vatsalya President of SVK Shikshan Sanstha, feted by director SCZCC Dr Deepak Khirwadkar. Payal Chanchlani and Deputy Director SCZCC Mohan Parkhi were also present during the fair.
SVK Shikshan Sanstha always works with a mission to create a plat form to sensitize the society and to encourage the Differently Abled people showcase their talent and abilities. Apart from the fashion show, the cultural programmes and folk dances at the Orange City craft Mela continued where the artistes from different regions of the country performed Gaddi Naati, Ghoomar and Saheriya Swang.
