The incident took place around 11:30 pm on Friday at Abhinav Rajat Apartment, where Dr. Yashodhara Prasad Aparajit resides. According to police reports, six men entered the premises and overpowered the watchman, seizing his mobile phone. They then forced him to accompany them to Dr. Aparajit’s apartment.

When the robbers rang her doorbell, Dr. Aparajit assessed the situation through the peephole and wisely chose not to open the door. The suspects, unable to gain entry, released the watchman and returned his phone before fleeing the scene in an auto-rickshaw.

Acting promptly, Dr. Aparajit alerted the police control room. The Bajaj Nagar Police were dispatched to the location, where they registered a case of attempted robbery. Simultaneously, a Crime Branch team, led by Police Inspector Kamlakar Gaddime, launched a search operation for the suspects. Their investigation revealed Mahendra Patil’s involvement, leading to his arrest at the Godhani bus stop. Patil has since been handed over to the Bajaj Nagar Police for further questioning.

Authorities are intensifying efforts to track down the remaining accused and have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in the investigation.

The bravery and quick thinking displayed by Dr. Aparajit have been widely praised, with the police urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately. Investigations are ongoing.
