Law & Order to be strictly maintained during Ganeshotsava: Collector

Nagpur: All Mandals of Ganeshotsava in the city must strictly abide by measures to be taken to maintain Law and Order situation, said District Collector Sachin Kurve while presiding over review-meeting in this regard held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Sabhagruh in the collectorate here in the city on Sept 11.

Present during the meeting were CEO Shivajirao Jondhale, SP Dr Arti Singh, resident Dy Collector Ravindra Kumbhare, DPO Krishna Firke, officers from police and other departments.

He further said, all Ganeshotsava Mandals must depute their own volunteers for security purpose and send the list of such volunteers to their nearby police stations. Volunteers must take round-the-clock responsibility of security, he added.

He also directed that in the case of rural areas, the tahsildars and naib-tahsildars concerned must call for meetings of peace committee of the Ganeshtotsava Mandals.

District SP Dr Arti Singh said, all should remain alert and watchful in order to ensure that nothing uncalled for takes place during Ganeshotsava.

Resident Dy Collector Kumbhare said, all Ganeshotsava Mandals have been asked to obtain sound decibel certificate in order to abide by High Court directives under Sound Pollution (Control and Regulation) Rules, 2000.

Collector Sachin Kurve also directed the officials to ensure the timings of Ganeshotsava and routes for the processions for Ganesh-immersion.
