Urdu holds a unique place as a secular language that was created in India. It is a testament to the country’s rich cultural diversity and inclusivity, blending elements from Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Sanskrit, Khadi Boli, Brajbhasha and many other Indian languages. Urdu transcends religious and cultural boundaries, embodying a heritage that is shared by all Indians. It was developed as a means of communication that brought people together, reflecting the syncretic traditions of Indian society.
Since 2019, the Free Urdu Classes have been officially renamed “Aamozish E Urdu,” meaning “Teaching/Learning of Urdu.” Now part of the Nagpur Book Club, these classes are made possible through the collaborative efforts of Aamozish E Urdu, Nagpur Book Club, and NCCI, ensuring the classes remain free.
