Los Angeles: Whole world was left ‘numb’ when the news of ‘numb’ vocalist Chester Bennington’s suicide came out. The 41 year old lead singer of the popular hard rock band ‘Linkin Park’, known for his screeching and ferocious singing, was found dead in his Los Angeles based home.
According to TMZ, the website which first released the news, the singer killed himself by hanging. The reason behind the massive step taken by lead singer of one the most commercially valuable rock band globally are yet to be disclosed.
Bennington was said to be close to Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell, who had taken his own life in May. Formed in 1996, Linkin Park have sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and won two Grammy Awards. He leaves behind a wife and six children.
Already struggled with addictions to alcohol and drugs for years, and he has reportedly said in the past that he had thought about committing suicide because an older man had abused him during his childhood.
