Nagpur: The simmering enmity among criminals in North Nagpur has reached a new high as notorious criminal Little Sardar, and his accomplice allegedly kidnapped another history-sheeter, Honey alias Manindarsingh Chandhok, demanding a ransom of Rs 7 lakh. The three are accused in the murder case of Bobby alias Bhupendrasinh Makan reported in 2019.

According to police, Little Sardar alias Shailendrasingh Lohiya (47) and Siddhu Harjeetsingh Kaur (34), accosted complainant Honey alias Maninder Singh Harjindarsingh Chandhok in his office located at Ashok Chowk. The duo reportedly demanded the substantial ransom and issued a dire threat to Chandhok and even threatened to take possession of Chandhok’s flat.

Jaripatka police were alerted to the incident, subsequently registering a case against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 364 (a), 386, 387, 506 and 34 of IPC.

The police said the victim, who is reported to be involved in a wholesale clothing business, had previously faced legal trouble. In 2019, Chandhok along with Little Sardar and four others were booked by the police on murder charges related to the death of Bobby Makan in Jaripatka. Soon after, the accused were slapped with Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

This latest incident appears to be a continuation of the ongoing feud between the criminal factions. On August 2, Little Sardar and Siddhu forcefully entered Chandhok’s residence and accused him of implicating them in the murder case. They allegedly demanded the ransom of Rs 7 lakh, citing it as expenditure for the court case. Despite the threats, Chandhok refused to comply.

However, the situation escalated further on August 5 when the accused once again targeted Chandhok’s residence. Failing to gain entry, Little Sardar contacted Chandhok’s brother and warned of potential harm unless their demands were met. Jaripatka police are investigating the case.
