Lok Sabha Polls: Nagpur reports 54.11% voting; Ramtek registers 61%.

Nagpur: Following the tentative data released on Friday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) published the final figures of voting for the Nagpur and Ramtek constituencies on Saturday.

Nagpur Lok Sabha recorded 54.11% voting (compared to 57.57% in 2019), while the Ramtek constituency gathered 61% of the votes (compared to 65.70% in 2019), marking a significant drop in voting in the 2024 elections.

In Nagpur, there are 22,23,281 registered voters (11,13,182 males, 11,09,876 females, and 223 others), out of which 12,02,962 voters exercised their franchise (6,27,479 males, 5,75,451 females, and 32 others).

56.37% of males turned out to vote, while the women’s turnout witnessed a slight drop to 51.85%; 14.35% from the other category also cast their votes.

Nagpur East led the voting with 55.76% in the Nagpur constituency, followed by North Nagpur with 55.16%. Nagpur South registered the lowest turnout at 52.80%.

In the Ramtek constituency, there are 20,49,085 registered voters (10,44,891 males, 10,04,142 females, and 52 others), out of which 12,49,864 voters exercised their franchise (6,66,302 males, 5,83,556 females, and 6 others).

63.77% of males turned out to vote, while the women’s turnout witnessed a slight drop to 58.11%; 11.54% from the others category also cast their votes.

Umred recorded the highest voting in the Ramtek constituency with 67.16%, followed by Ramtek with 66.37%; Kamthi recorded the lowest turnout at 58.69%.

The fate of all 26 candidates in Nagpur and 28 candidates in Ramtek was sealed in the Electronic Voting Machine on April 19. The results will be announced on June 4, 2024.
