Lost bag of gold jewellery recovered by Hudkeshwar police

Nagpur : The Hudkeshwar Police Station recovered a lost bag containing gold jewellery worth Rs 7,08,000 and returned it to its rightful owner within 24 hours.

Siddharth Dabhade, a resident of Bangalore, had come to Nagpur with his wife Nilima to attend a function at Pratapnagar. After the event, they left their black bag containing 111 grams of gold jewellery and 53 grams of silver jewellery in an auto at Juna Subhedar. The bag was reported lost, and a complaint was filed at the Hudkeshwar Police Station.

Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Dnyaneshwar Bhedokar, a team of officers led by PO Deputy Inspector Mahesh Pandey launched an investigation. They scanned over 50 CCTVs in the area and traced the auto to its owner, Kailash Gautam Rao Kharate, at Jayatala.

The driver/owner was detained, and the bag was recovered from his house, with all its contents intact. The jewellery was identified by the complainant, and the bag was returned to him.
