Nagpur: Just days before the Lok Sabha election results, Rajasthan’s popular Phalodi Satta Bazaar has predicted a clear majority for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with a seat share of around 300. The Phalodi Satta Bazar has gained wide attention for its predictive betting assessments. However, other Satta Bazaars in different cities predict no clear majority for either BJP or Opposition INDIA bloc. These Bazaars have suggested a hung verdict, reports in multiple media said.
According to the reports, the Phalodi betting market suggests a consecutive third-term victory for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, predicting that the saffron party will win approximately 290-300 seats. In contrast, the Congress is projected to secure only 40-42 seats, a decline from its 52 seats in the 2019 elections. The remaining seats are expected to be secured by the other parties.
The Phalodi Satta Bazaar has a history of accurate predictions, whether in elections, cricket matches, or weather forecasts. Despite a lower voter turnout in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP is still anticipated to win between 62 and 65 out of 80 seats. Several reports and predictions of Phalodi Satta Bazaar indicate that the BJP aims to capture all 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP, with a probability of winning 335 to 340 seats overall.
According to the Phalodi Satta Bazaar and media reports, the BJP is set to face a significant blow in Uttar Pradesh, a state seen as an indicator of the national mood of voters. As per its estimates, the BJP could win 55-65 seats in the state — lower than its 2019 tally of 62 seats in the 2019 elections and 71 in the 2014 polls.
The Congress and the Samajwadi Party, on the other hand, are projected to win 15-25 seats in the state, suggesting that the INDIA bloc constituents may have managed to establish a stronghold in the state following two successive Lok Sabha debacles. The 2019 elections saw former UP rivals Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party join hands to take on the BJP in the state. The alliance could only win 15 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
Another report said that while the grey market estimates almost matched the BJP’s claims of the NDA winning 400 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats in this election, the projections saw sharp changes as the phases progressed. Ahead of the elections that began on April 19, the Phalodi Satta Bazaar had predicted over 300 seats to the BJP alone. After the first two phases of elections, the projections for the BJP fell to around 290 seats. The market revised its estimates again after the fifth phase, predicting almost 300 seats for the BJP.
In its latest estimate, the Phalodi Satta Bazar predicts less than 300 seats for the BJP while the INDIA bloc tally is projected to reach 80-85 seats. Notably, this is the highest tally projected by this betting market for the INDIA bloc so far. In its estimates on May 13, the Phalodi Satta Bazar predicted 40-42 seats for the Congress, significantly lower than its 2019 tally of 52 seats and even below its lowest-ever tally of 44 in the 2014 general elections.
The betting rates in the Satta Bazaar fluctuate based on multiple factors, including candidate popularity, caste-based support, voter support at the election campaign rallies, party strength and status. The current rates reflect the numbers after six voting phases, with one more remaining. These rates may change as voting progresses.
Mumbai Satta Bazaar prediction
Like the Phalodi Satta Bazaar, the Mumbai Satta Bazaar has also predicted an easy victory for the BJP-led NDA in the country. In Uttar Pradesh, the Mumbai Satta Bazaar projects 64-66 seats for the BJP. Overall, this betting market expects the BJP to win 295-305 seats and projects the Congress to win 55 to 65 Lok Sabha seats.
The Mumbai Satta Bazar had earlier projected 270 to 280 seats for the BJP following the second phase of elections. At the time, it was estimated that the Congress could win 70-80 seats.
