Changing the future of a country starts with training those who belong in the future. With the aim of making a difference in the future, some youngsters are providing children from the underprivilged section of the society the means to dream.

Make A Difference (MAD), a non-governmental organisation working in 23 cities all over India, is giving a chance to the youngsters in the city to contribute in their endeavour of taking India towards a better future. In five years of its presence inNagpur, MAD has helped in the English education of about 250 kids from various shelter homes located in various areas such as Jaripatka, Buldi, Dharampeth, Sadar, Godhani with the help of 120 active volunteers.

“Our job is not just to teach the kids English or help them with studies. We teach them to dream and aspire high. We provide them with role models and family members, becoming their foster parents rather than just mentors,” said president of city chapter of MAD Chetan Gughane.

Other than teaching the kids in the institutions English through courseware of Cambridge University, MAD is also involved in several activities. Placements project aims to expose the kids to the various career options by means of taking them to workplaces and organizing interactions with successful professionals. Another project called Dream Tee involves sellin T-shirts that promote conscious consumerism. The proceeds from selling every tee help the upkeep of a child for an entire month. Various events are organized throughout the year to raise money for the many child-centric projects of the organization subsequently.
