On the occasion of Independence Day, the central government announced service medals for 1,037 police personnel from various central and state forces on Wednesday. Out of these, 59 police officers from Maharashtra will be honored this year. The awards include 17 for bravery, 3 for distinguished service, and 39 for commendable service.
