Maharashtra TET 2024 registration begins, exam on Nov 10

Nagpur: The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune, has commenced the registration process for the Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) 2024 or MAHATET 2024. All the eligible and interested candidates can apply for the registration process through the official website, mahatet.in. The deadline to apply is September 30.

As per the official schedule, the Maharashtra TET 2024 exam will be conducted on November 10. The admit cards for the same will be issued on October 28. The time slots for the TET Paper I and Paper II are November 10 from 10.30 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4.30 pm, respectively.

· To apply for Paper 1, which is for Primary classes, candidates must have completed Class 12 and hold a Diploma in Education (DEd) or a Bachelor of Education (BEd).

· To apply for Paper 2, for upper-primary classes, candidates are required to have completed Class 12 and hold a graduation degree, along with a DEd or BEd.

· For those who are looking to apply for both Paper 1 and Paper 2, the criteria include having completed Class 12 and holding a graduation degree, with a DEd or BEd as the mandatory professional qualification.

How to apply for Maharashtra TET 2024?

Step 1: Navigate to the official website, mahatet.in

Step 2: Upon reaching the homepage, choose the Login tab and register yourself on the portal.

Step 3: After successfully logging in, proceed with the application process.

Step 4: Fill in all the required information, upload the documents and pay the application fee.

Step 5: Submit and take a hard copy of the Maharashtra TET 2024 Registration form for future reference.

Application Fee

Candidates belonging to the SC, ST categories, and Handicapped applicants (with 40 percent or more disability) need to pay Rs 700 for any of the one paper (Paper 1 or Paper 2). Candidates who want to apply for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are required to pay Rs 900 during the registration process. Candidates from OBC, EWS, SEBC, open category, SBC, NT-B, C, D, VJA, and TA categories must pay Rs 1,000 for one paper and Rs 1,200 for both papers.

Exam pattern

The Maharashtra TET 2024 exam will consist of two papers, each comprising 150 Multiple Choice Questions. Paper 1 will be held from 10:30 am to 1 pm. Paper 2 will be conducted from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. For every correct answer, the candidate will receive one mark. No mark will be deducted for any wrong attempt. Applicants looking to teach Classes 1 to 5 must pass Paper 1 while clearing Paper 2 is required to teach Classes 6 to 8.

When downloading their admit card, students are urged to verify the information on it, such as their name, roll number, exam schedule, exam centre address, exam instructions, etc.

The purpose of the MAHATET exam is to verify a candidate’s eligibility to teach at schools connected to the Maharashtra Education Board.
