Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation-Orange City Water (NMC-OCW) planned a 30-hour shutdown of the Kanhan Water Treatment Plant (WTP) from 10 am on July 1 to 4 pm on July 2.
During the said period, numerous works of interconnections of 1300×600 for Kalamana-Wanjra ESR and 900×500 for Prajapati Nagar ESR, 900×700 at Dipti Signal Square have been planned for Smart City. Similarly under R&R 600 mm valve replacement on Lakadganj-I& II ESR branch pipeline, 900mm Kanhan feeder main on-line valve replacement at Telephone Exchange Square and 900 mm outlet valve replacement of Dry Well No.- II at Kanhan WTP. Also during the shutdown, Kanhan Jack Well (Raw Water Intake Well): 33 KV Electrical Panel replacement of pumping unit, removal of the old 33 KV panel and installation of the new panel, installation of Jackwell substation incomer VCB and relay panel.
These upgrades are essential for improving the water supply infrastructure and ensuring a more reliable and efficient water distribution system for the city.
The water supply will be disrupted in the command areas of following zones: Bharatwada ESR, Kalamna ESR, Subhan Nagar ESR, Minimata ESR, Bhandewadi ESR, Lakadganj ESR, Babulban ESR, Pardi ESR, Pardi ESR2, Shanti Nagar ESR, Wanjri ESR, Kalamna NITESR, Nandanvan Ext. ESR, Nandanvan ESR1, Nandanvan ESR2, Tajbagh ESR,Kharbi ESRCA, Sakkardara ESR 3, Binaki Exist. ESR CA, Binaki ESR 1, Binaki ESR 2, Uppalwadi NITESR, Indora ESR 1, Indora ESR2, Bezonbagh ESR, Gamdoor DT, Jaswant DT, Bastarwadi IA, Bastarwadi IB, Bastarwadi 2.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to make temporary storage arrangements in advance to mitigate any inconvenience caused by the water supply interruption, said a release issued by OCW.
