Nagpur: Yashodhanagar police have arrested a middle aged man for raping a 34-year old woman by doling out threats to kill her and her family.
The victim woman, residing in Yashodhanagar police area, complained that the accused Gopal Kotangale (50), staying in same locality, stopped her on the road while she was going to bank. The accused forced the woman to sit on his bike and took her to a lodge in Kanhan. The accused threatened to kill her and her family. With this life threat, the accused raped her between November 1, 2020 and July 10, 2021.

Yashodharanagar Woman PSI N D Sheikh, acting on the woman’s complaint, booked the accused Gopal Kotangale under Sections 376(2)(N), 354(D), 506(B) of the IPC and put him behind the bars. Further probe is underway.
