Nagpur: Jaripatka Police have arrested a 30-year-old man on charges of penetrative sexual assault on two minor girls on Sunday night.
The accused, Sanghdeep Pandurang Sakhare, is a resident of Jaripatka area. Mother of one of the seven-year-old victims lodged a complaint that Sakhare, who stays near her house, called her daughter around 9 pm on Sunday. He then took her daughter and the latter’s friend in an e-rickshaw parked nearby and sexually assaulted the two minor girls. The duo raised an alarm and also alerted their parents. Sakhre, working as an executive in a private company, was thrashed and handed over to the cops.
On the basis of the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 376(2)(I), 376(a)(b), 354 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 4 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, against Sakhare and arrested him.
