According to the police, Ashwin Ratan Shende had been struggling with alcohol addiction, which had strained his relationship with his father, Ratan Janardhan Shende. The tension escalated when Ashwin refused to return his father’s motorcycle, which he had been using for the past three days. The tragic incident unfolded when Ashwin and Ratan found themselves at a dhaba in an intoxicated state. Ratan confronted Ashwin at the location, and consumed by rage, he strangled his son with a Dupatta. The assault proved fatal, as Ashwin succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Subsequently, Ratan disposed of Ashwin’s body by striking it with a stick and abandoning it in a nearby field.
