Man arrested for wielding sword near IT Park, Nagpur

Nagpur: Rana Pratap Nagar Police apprehended a 22-year-old man early Monday morning for reportedly brandishing a sword near the Persistent Building in the IT Park area.

The accused has been identified as Nitin Ramesh Marke (22), residing in Galli No. 2, behind Telephone Exchange, Subhash Nagar.

According to sources within the police department, Officer Shepoi Nikhil Sarjerao Ghonge and his team from the Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station were on routine patrol when they received a report of a man carrying a sword in the vicinity of IT Park. Acting swiftly, the officers arrived at the scene to find Marke allegedly threatening locals with the weapon. After surrounding him, they disarmed Marke and took him into custody at the Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station.

Marke faces charges under Sections 4+25 of the Indian Arms Act, in conjunction with Sub Sections 135 of the Maharashtra Police Action. Investigations into the incident are currently underway.
