Suspecting fidelity of his wife, a 35-year-old man attacked and attempted to kill her. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan police station. The accused Mangal Shivdas Gajbhiye had a suspicion on his wife Yogita Mangal Gajbhiye (32), a resident of Bhivsankhori colony, near Buddha Vihar. On Monday, Mangal attacked his wife with sharp-edged weapon and injured her severely.

On the complaint of Yogita Gajbhiye, Gittikhadan Police have registered a case under Section 307 of the IPC and have booked Mangal, who has since fled. Police said that Yogita is undergoing medical treatment at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo Hospital).
