Nagpur: Sensation prevailed in the Nandan Slums area under Nandanvan Police Station here on Tuesday after a man reportedly killed his wife, suspecting her fidelity.
The deceased has been identified as Archana Bharaskar (38). The police have booked the accused, Ramesh Bharaskar, on charges of murder and placed him under arrest.

According to police sources, Ramesh was a habitual drinker and used to suspect his wife’s character. The couple had several arguments in the past as well. Between the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, another such argument broke out between them. In a fit of rage, Ramesh picked up a hammer and bludgeoned her to death.
When the matter came to light on Tuesday morning, the police placed Ramesh in custody and sent the body for postmortem. Further investigations are underway.
