Man first steals electricity, then tries to cheat SNDL, MSEDCL by preparing bogus papers

Nagpur News.

Sadar police have booked one person, who not only indulged in power theft but also tried to cheat the Spanco Nagpur Discom Limited (SNDL), popularly called only Spanco, with bogus documents with the help of his accomplice, who has also been booked by the police.

According to police, the first accused Kunjilal Pardeshi Chaudhary (48), resident of New Babulkheda, Kukde Layout, Chaudhary Mohalla, was caught by Spanco while stealing electricity. An offence was registered against him. The Spanco levied Rs 48,116 as power bill and penalty to Kunjilal Chaudhary for power theft. However, Chaudhary agreed to pay Rs 20,000 as settlement bill. But, Kunjilal Chaudhary, instead of paying Rs 20,000, connived with the second accused Aakash Pande (28), resident of Nandanvan, near Ramna Maroti Temple, and prepared bogus SNDL documents. After preparing the bogus documents, both the accused Kunjilal Chaudhary and Aakash Pande submitted them to MSEDCL office in Gaddigodam, Sadar in Nagpur  from 29-08-2013 to 14-11-2013 in order to mislead both SNDL ans MSEDCL and thus committed fraud.
