Nagpur: In a sensational incident, a young man committed suicide at Nagpur Railway Station in full public view on Monday night. The deceased is reported to be in the age group of 30 to 35-years. The incident occurred around 8 pm.
According to reports, the man climbed atop the banyan tree, located adjacent to the RMS building at Nagpur Railway Station premises. As per reports, travellers spotted the youth carrying a dupatta on the banyan tree and alerted the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF). The GRP and RPF personnel tried to cajole the youth in a bid to get him down but he only climbed further up. Sensing the plan of youth, the Fire Brigade was called so that they could reach up to the youth. Though the team fire fighters arrived on the scene they did not have an automatic ladder with them and this handicap was exploited to hilt by the man who seemed hell bent on ending his life.

By the time an alternate plan was drafted the man tied the dupatta to a tree branch and hanged himself even as people watched it in aghast. The man died on the spot. The body of the young man was brought down. GRP started the investigation by registering a case of accidental death.
