Nagpur: The spate of murders continues to rock the Second Capital. In one more such violent crime, a 35-year old man was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and was killed by another man over an old feud. The latest murder took place in Jaripatka police jurisdiction on Tuesday, June 22 night.
The deceased has been identified as Sheshrao Bansod, resident of Bhimsena Slums, Nara Road, Jaripatka.
According to police, a quarrel had erupted between the deceased and the accused Abhay Dnyaneshwar Landge (34), staying in the same locality sometime back. On Tuesday, around 7.30 pm, the accused Abhay Landge accosted Sheshrao and picked up a quarrel with him over an old dispute. During the wordy duel, Abhay Landge attacked Sheshrao with a sharp-edged weapon and injured him critically. A profusely bleeding Sheshrao was taken to Mayo Hospital where doctors declared him dead during the course of treatment.
Jaripatka police, based on a complaint lodged by Sangeeta Saroj Meshram (32), resident of Bhimsena Slums, booked the accused Abhay Landge under Section 307, 302 of the IPC. No arrest has been made in the case so far.
