Nagpur: A 35-year old man was murdered brutally and his body was thrown into a canal in New Kamptee area on Friday night. The deceased has not been identified. The identity of murderer(s) has also not been established so far.
According to police, the body of the murdered man was found in the canal near Ghorpad coming under New Kamptee Police Station jurisdiction. Upon being informed, a team of cops led by Woman API Patil reached to the spot and started investigation. The body was pulled out and sent to government hospital for post-mortem.
The body bore deep injuries on head probably done by a blunt, sharp weapon. The deceased was reportedly strangulated to death with the help of a dupatta after inflicting injuries on his head. The unidentified killer(s) later threw the man’s body into the Ghorpad canal with the intention of destroying evidence.
The investigating cops questioned nearby people for establishing the identity of the deceased but could not make any headway. The identity of murderer(s) is also under dark.
New Kamptee police have registered an offence and launched an in-depth investigation.
