Nagpur: Koradi Police booked a hotelier for allegedly attempting to kill his former business partner with a mauser gun over a financial dispute.
According to police, in the wee hours of Sunday, accused Rehan Ansari Aslam Miyaji (30) opened fire at Mohammad Sharif Mohammad Rafiq Ansari (37) from his mauser gun in front of Hotel Sanjari Taj, Mankapur, on Bokhara Road, over some financial dealings. Mohammad Sharif, who was with his wife, escaped unhurt as the bullet missed the target. However, Rehan Ansari reloaded his gun and again threatened to eliminate Mohammad Sharif.
Mohammad Sharif, a resident of Ekta Colony Yashodhara Nagar, and the accused Rehan Ansari were running Hotel Sanjari Taj on partnership basis since June last year. After two months, Rehan Ansari dissolved the partnership by promising Mohammad Sharif to return the money invested by him. However, the dispute continued between them as Rehan Ansari allegedly did not return him the full amount.
Following a complaint lodged by Mohammad Sharif, cops registered a case under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Section 3+25 of the Arms Act, against Rehan Ansari. Further investigations are underway.
