Maharashtra Parichay Kendra to come up in Los Angeles
Nagpur: “While we are trying our best for the progress of Maharashtra State, the state will further develop and touch newer heights if our Marathi brothers and sisters flourishing in America and Canada extend their supportive hands for making Maharashtra an excellent state,” said Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in his sincere appeal to Marathi-men gathered in Los Angeles (USA). He was speaking to Marathi-men during inauguration of the 17th Convention of Brihan-Maharashtra Mandal jointly organized at Los Angeles by the Marathi-men settled in America and Canada. He also announced that Maharashtra Parichay Kendra would be set up at Los Angeles in order to develop relationship of Maharashtra with Marathi men in America.

Prominently present during inauguration of the convention included Maharashtra industries minister Subhash Desai, Maharashtra chief secretary Swadhin Kshatriya, Brihan-Maharashtra Mandal president Sunil Suryavanshi, MP Shivajirao Adhalrao-Patil, Shailesh Shetye, Vivek Randive and a host of delegates from cultural field.
Lauding the alround progress made by Marathi Mandal, the Chief Minister further said, the state of Maharashtra is proud to see that the noble children of Maharashtra have earned remarkable name and fame on the foreign lands, and their role in the progress of America will remain enshrined in the history of development.
He gave a detailed account of fast changes taking place in the state of Maharashtra and appealed to Marathi-men over there to join hands with ‘Make in Maharashtra’ programme on the footing of ‘Make in India.’ According to him, the work culture of the entire country has changed, and there is now a wave of ‘Red Carpet’ instead of one-time ‘Red Tape’, and as a result various avenues including employment for youths have been opened in Maharashtra. He appealed to Marathi-men abroad that they should extend their support to their janambhumi Maharashtra in order to make Maharashtra the best state.

The Chief Minister in his address reminded the Marathi-men abroad not to forget their contribution to matrubhumi, karmabhumi and janambhumi, and hoped that Marathi Mandali would certainly keep Maharashtra and America in constant ties in all respects. In commercial parlance he said that 25% concessions would be provided by Brihan-Maharashtra Mandal and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation if the interested Marathi-men come to Maharashtra through Maharashtra Parchay Kendra.
At the outset, a quarterly issue of Maharashtra Unlimited was released at the hands of the Chief Minister and other guests. As many as 54 Marathi Mandals from America and Canada were represented on this occasion. About 5000 people participated in the programme.
During Chief Minister’s America-visit various conclaves have been organized that include the issues relating to cultural, social, medical, economic and business and necessary discussions will be held to promote invest.
