Nagpur: Hudkeshwar Police arrested a youth for allegedly sexually exploiting a married beautician for almost one-and-a-half years on the promise of marriage and impregnating her.
Identified as Mohit Sanjay Pande (21), the accused is a resident of Pipla Road, opposite Old Hudkeshwar Police Station.
According to police, the 31-year-old victim in her complaint alleged that Pande established a physical relationship with her by promising to marry her. Between September 24, 2022 and February 23, 2024, he allegedly sexually exploited her, she alleged. When she conceived, she alleged, Pande refused to marry and forced her to abort. When she went to meet his mother, the latter made casteist remarks against her, she claimed.
On the basis of the victim’s complaint, police registered a case under Sections 376(2)(n) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 3(1)(w)(i)(ii), 3(2)(v) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, against Pande and arrested him. Later, investigation revealed that Pande was involved in several crimes.
