Wadi police has arrested a 32-year-old married man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in Nirmal Nagar area in Wadi area on Saturday morning. Accused Chandanlal Turkar had lured the nieghbouring girl of chocolate and locked her inside the bathroom.
Police informed that Turkar, who hails from Balaghat, had married a year ago. His wife had gone to her parents’ house when Turkar did the heinous crime.

The incident came to light when the survivor’s mother reached home and didn’t found her daughter at home. According to the police complaint, the survivor’s parents, both labourers, had gone for their work when Turkar lured the minor of chocolate and called her home.
Cops informed that he locked himself with her inside the bathroom and attempt to force himself upon her. The survivor’s mother caught Turkar and she alerted nearby residents. Police has charged Turkar of rape offence and Protection of Child Abuse and Sexual Harassment Act,2012.
