Nagpur News: The Local Body Tax (LBT) Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) carried out a surprise raid on Sunny Electronics, a big showroom dealing in cell phones and accessories of all major companies, in Modi No. 3 of Sitabuldi Area in Nagpur today (November 22).
During the raid, the officials of LBT Department allegedly found massive evasion of LBT and huge stocks of mobile phones and accessories in three godowns brought by non-payment of LBT, sources said. The officials scanned every possible document to detect the figure of the LBT evasion as the Sunny Electronics is known to be one of the biggest dealers of mobile phones of all major companies and accessories with alleged turnover of approximate Rs 1 lakh per day, sources said. Sources further said that the dealer allegedly refused to divulge the dealings sought by the LBT authorities. The officials were scanning the stock registers, bills, receipts and other documents made available to them.
The raid was conducted by a team led by LBT Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Dhamecha, LBT officers Yaday Jambhulakar, Rajesh Meshram and LBT Inspectors Sunil Gajhbiye, Ramesh Padghan, Jitendra Tomar, Dahikar, Binekar and other employees under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Shyam Wardhane and Additional Deputy Municipal Commissioner Pramod Bhusari .
