Nagpur: Tehsil Police in Nagpur on late Wednesday night arrested one of the two drug peddlers and seized 72 gramme Mephedrone powder (MD) valued at Rs 7.20 lakh from his possession. Cops also seized a cell phone and Suzuki Access scooter (MH-31/FY-0726) worth Rs 91,300 from him.
Identified as Vimalkumar Siddhu Prasad (29), the accused is a native of Parsa Bazar, Patna, Bihar. He was staying in a rented house at Bhandewadi, Pardi in the city. Acting on a tip off, police nabbed Vimalkumar Prasad near Dadrapul railway line around 9.30 pm. During his physical search, cops found a plastic packet containing MD powder.

During questioning, he told police that one Sheikh Danish, a resident of Navin Nagar, Pardi, had given MD powder to sell it to drug addicts and was getting commission from him. After arresting Vimalkumar Prasad on charges under Sections 8(C) and 22(C) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, police have launched a search for Sheikh Danish.
