The soothing music, fragrance of mogras, beats of the classical instruments, the presence of the renowned artists at the event and people in the Indian attires, made it all worthwhile. Music, the true form of happiness, it is something that keeps your mind in peace, leaving everything behind. It takes you to the different world, a world full of divine happiness, relief, joy, the world where there’s no feel of sorrow, no pain and no complaints. It is just you and divine entity, with your own thoughts. It is said that music is the reason to cheer you up anytime and anywhere. It can take you away from the toughest situation to the state of ecstasy. Classical music is indeed something, people would be keen to listen to.
Sangeet– Singing is the thing which is unique in its own way having several forms. Sangeet can even describe the life of a person, the happenings and the feelings. So, focusing on the classical music, Smruti Sangeet Samaroh was organized at Deshpande hall which witnessed performance of various renowned artists.
The Samaroh longed for 3 days, with performance of various artists from all over the country. The event initiated with the performance of Aditya Modak who is an award winner for Hindustani Vocal Award, seemed totally dedicated to his classical singing.
The breathless flute performance by Rakesh Chaurasia and the way it ended with the amazing ‘Jugalbandhi’ with tabla and the composition sweet flute sound stole the hearts of people.
Girija Devi, one of the famous vocal artists of the country, who had to face much opposition in her initial days, yet proved herself in the field of singing, had the audience continuously clapping over her performance. Mayur Sharma, award winner of Tabla, Uday Bawalkar who is famous for playing Dhrupad and Niladri Kumar who played Sitar all kept the audience wanting for more.
Towards the end of the event, the audience enjoyed the performance by Vighesh Ishwar, Carnatic Vocal Award Winner. Malhar Band, one of the renowned Indian Classical Bands, had the listeners enjoy the melodious synchronization of music throughout their performance.
It was the performance by the Wadali Bandhu who had the audience enthralled.
Having these artists in our city and getting a chance to see them perform is a great privilege for the Nagpur Audience. Many big wigs of town attended the event.
