Nagpur: In a stunning incident, a man killed his 3-year old son brutally in Jaripatka area on Thursday.
More shockingly, in an attempt to destroy evidence and shield the accused father, the other family members tried to mislead the police by telling them that the 3-year old boy accidentally fell into a water storage tank and died. The deceased toddler has been identified as Shreyas Dharmendra Dongre, resident of Plot No. P/248, Indira Nagar Slums, Jaripatka area. Initially, cops registered a case of accidental death and launched an in-depth probe into the matter.
However, the sustained investigation revealed that the accused father Dharmendra Amar Dongre (30) was reportedly mentally ill. Around 9 pm on Thursday, the accused Dharmendra suddenly caught hold of his son Shreyas and rammed him on the floor of the house. He then kicked the toddler on his chest and stomach repeatedly and pushed him into a water storage tank. Hearing the cries of the kid, other family members rushed him to Mayo Hospital. However, the 3-year old Shreyas could not bear the brutal attack and died in the wee hours of Friday while undergoing treatment.
Jaripatka Lady PSI Shirke has registered an offence under Section 302 of IPC against the accused Dharmendra Dongre and placed him under arrest.
