MESTA members meet Education Officer for funds under RTI

Nagpur: The english medium schools are refusing to give admission to the students under RTE as they have not recieved the pending amount from the Education Ministry and so they had to take this decision. Maharashtra English School Trustees’ Association (MESTA) members and teachers submitted a memorandum to Zilla Parishad Education Officer Deependra Lokhande for the admission funds.

The English medium schools of Nagpur district have not received Rs 45.52 lakh from 2012 to 2017. The condition of these schools has become very bad as they have not received the funds. Along with the other demands they demanded to set up RTE District Grievance Redressal Committee and their representation in it. They have also demanded that under the RTE process if a student leaves the school in between then they be given permission to fill the vacant seat be given to the school administration. Present on the occasion were District working President M Abid, District Secretary Kapil Umale and District Vice-President Naresh Bhoyar.
