Micromax announced that its Canvas Xpress A99 would be the first smartphone to get the lollipop update, followed by other Canvas smartphone while other Google android one users still await for the lollipop update.
Micromax had launched the Canvas Xpress back in December last year, priced at Rs 6,999. As far as specifications are concerned, the smartphone features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also features a 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, expandable memory, and a 1,950mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, and bluetooth.
The smartphone launched with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but will soon be updated to 5.0 Lollipop. If you haven’t got the notification, you can head over to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update.
As mentioned above, Android One users in India are still awaiting the Lollipop update. Google had promised that the smartphones would be one of the first to get the updates. But the company has failed to stick to its promise. The company however recently announced that the update will be released in the next “few weeks.
