Nagpur: A middle-aged woman was robbed of cash and gold ornaments to the tune of Rs 1,56,000 while travelling in Ganeshpeth area on Tuesday afternoon.
A native of Revni colony, Gadchirol, Vanita Deshmukh (53), accompanied with her son had come to Nagpur to visit a relative. On Tuesday, Vanita boarded an auto at Morbhavan, for going to Ganeshpeth Bus Stand. After reaching the Bus Stand, Vanita checked her handbag and found her cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.56 lakh missing. A miscreant travelling in the auto along with Vanita burgled her booty.
Ganeshpeth police has registered an offence under Section 379 of the IPC and searching for the burglar.
