Nagpur: Cracking down on the illegal businesses in Nagpur, DCP Zone-4 Rashmita Rao initiated action against the owners of the dhabas where liquor was being served illegally.
Notably, the dhabas coming under Hudkeshwar and Beltarodi police jurisdictions, were found serving liquor to customers illegally. On being informed, police teams carried out midnight raids on ‘The Next World Family Restaurant’, ‘Samadhan Family Restaurant,’ ‘Laddu Ka Dhaba’ and ‘The Legend’ dhaba. During the raids, police found all dhabas serving liquor to customers. The owners of these dhabas have been booked under sections of Maharashtra Prohibition Act.

The DCP Zone-4 Rashmita Rao has directed the In-Charge Police Inspectors of the police stations to take strict actions against illegal businesses.
It is known that many establishments along the city’s borders engage in similar illegal liquor sales, often attracting antisocial elements. Despite this, local police frequently overlook these activities and only take action when complaints are escalated to higher authorities.
