Nagpur News: The Nagpur city has turned a battle field as far as crucial issue of Local Body Tax (LBT) is concerned as big as well as small traders, business houses and industries and others who are affected by the enforcement of LBT in place of Octroi duty have been protesting strongly by calling a total bandh since the past one month.
In this connection a wine shop which was open became a target of miscreants in name of bandh supporters who rushed into the shop and created a ruckus and damaged the stuff and property. The shop owner reportedly suffered a loss of Rs 10,000.
The incident happened at Coffee House Square in Dharampeth and the target was Jouhri Wine Shop. The manager Mukund Pimpalapure was seating in the shop when suddenly a group of 5-6 so called bandh activists came at the spot and started forceful bandh. Sensing trouble, Mukund too tried to close his shop but the group stormed into the shop and damaged showcase by kicking repeatedly, threw away a cooler, broke the glasses of a fridge and also smashed wine bottles causing a loss of Rs 10,000 to the owner. After the incident, Vinod Jouhri 53), a resident of Sai Prabhu Apartment near Ravi Nagar Square, reached the Sitabuldi Police Station and lodged a complaint. The police have registered an offence against the persons and are investigating further.
