South Africa’s Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was today crowned the Miss Universe for the year 2017. India’s Shraddha Shashidhar failed to make a mark at the world’s biggest beauty pageant as she could not even make it to top 16.
Colombia’ Laura Gonzalez and Jamaica’s Davina Bennett were announced as first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
The announcement of the winner was also made on Miss Universe’s official Twitter account.
The event which was held in Las Vegas was hosted by comedian Steve Harvey. A total of 92 contestants participated in the pageant.
